We are thrilled to announce our first Nine Hats sparkling wine, a gorgeous Blancs de Blanc that represents a new chapter in our winemaking journey. After years of perfecting our craft with still wines, we're excited to share this next chapter in Nine Hats' portfolio of wines.
Winemaker Gilles Nicault Comes Full Circle
Nine Hats Director of Winemaking and Viticulture, Gilles Nicault, has always loved sparkling wine. After earning his viticulture degree in the Rhône Valley, Gilles interned in Champagne where he combined his affinity for sparkling wine with his desire to learn and experience the nuances of crafting it. Soon after, Washington beckoned and Gilles began his 30+ year career in Washington wine.
Fast forward to a couple of years ago when the opportunity to craft a Nine Hats sparkling wine presented itself. Working closely with wonderful vineyard sites in the Columbia Valley, Gilles guided the production of the Méthode Champenoise Blanc de Blancs, ensuring refined complexity and an approachable profile that will enhance your everyday celebrations.
Tasting Notes
The Nine Hats Blancs de Blanc Brut presents a brilliant pale gold color with persistent, fine bubbles that dance gracefully in the glass. On the nose, you'll discover fresh citrus notes of lemon and green apple, complemented by subtle hints of brioche and toasted almonds from its time on the lees. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with bright acidity balanced by creamy texture and a long, elegant finish that lingers with notes of white peach and mineral undertones.

This inaugural release is limited to just 176 cases. We recommend enjoying it now for its fresh, vibrant character, though it will continue to develop beautifully over the next 3-5 years.
