425 Magazine - Seattle Wine Wonderland

Eastsiders are spoiled with nearby Woodinville wine country. Tasting rooms line the streets, and it’s easy to make a day of sipping and stocking up on our new favorite bottles. But Seattle has caught on to the wine-sipping market and has brought a new-and-improved experience to the region. SODO Urbanworks, located in the Industrial District, has recently been rebranded as SODO Wine Works. The collective is made up of nine different wine-tasting rooms, with a Champagne tasting room operated by the folks at Structure Cellars on the horizon. Instead of having to find transportation from winery to winery, all the tasting rooms at SODO Wine Works are collected under one, wonderful roof. We recommend spending the day and trying as many varietals as possible. Our top picks: a slice of pizza from Nine Pies Pizzeria paired with a glass of rich merlot at Nine Hats Wines. Join the wine club at Kerloo Cellars to give their Dionysus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon a try, then head to LATTA Wines for their high scoring vintages. Finish off the flavorful escapade with the wine and chocolate pairing experience offered by Patterson Cellars. Read more.
