Nine Ways to Keep Busy During (& After!) Quarantine
It’s hard to believe that we’re four months into quarantine. As tough as it’s been being away from all of you, we’ve cherished the virtual moments where we’ve been able to connect. As summer approaches, some of you may continue to sip your wine at home and some of you may visit us, but no matter what you decide, we’re here to help with nine ways to stay busy during and after quarantine.
Virtual Happy Hour
It’s become the new normal to uncork your favorite wines at home and virtually connect with friends online. We had a blast sipping on some of our spring release wines during our first-ever Nine Hats Wines virtual happy hour and we’re excited to do it again! On Thursday, July 9th at 5:30 pm PT, join tasting room manager, Jonathan, as he tastes you through our 2017 Nine Hats Riesling, 2016 Nine Hats Sangiovese, 2015 Nine Hats Malbec. Sometimes, spending 40 minutes online with fellow wine lovers is just what you need. We hope you can join us!
Nine Hats Virtual Bingo
At our SODO tasting room, Nine Hats Bingo Night is by far one of our favorite monthly activities. It’s a great time to unwind, drink delicious Washington wines, and win some prizes! We decided to bring Bingo to the small screen where you can sip, chat, and have some fun with friends from the comfort of your own home. On Thursday, July 15th at 6 pm join tasting room manager, Jonathan, for a night of virtual bingo and Nine Hats wines. $5 will get you five bingo cards. We’re adding a special twist this time by giving you the opportunity to buy a Bingo Box filled with delicious meats, cheeses, spreads, and much more that will pair with all of your favorite Nine Hats wines! Pick it up either the day before or day of our virtual bingo. Boxes are $15 for social club members and $20 for non-club members–$15 for those who purchase wine with it!
Make Pizza with our DIY Pizza Kits
You may have heard about our partner-in-crime, Nine Pies Pizzeria, offering DIY Pizza Kits for pick up in SODO. What is better to pair with pizza other than Nine Hats wines, which you can conveniently pickup right next door? Our DIY pizza kits come with dough, sauce, and your choice of toppings. Spring Clean your Wine Cellar
If you read our April blog “Spring Cleaning for your Wine Cellar” then you should be well versed on this topic. If you haven’t, it’s the perfect task to make you feel more organized, accomplished, and knowledgeable about the wines you may have forgotten about in your cellar or on your wine rack. From how and where to store your wine, make sure your cellar is in tip-top shape as we head into summer — you may even find yourself needing more (hint, hint).
Netflix Party
If you know us at all, you know how seriously we take our movies and how much we enjoy watching them with our fans. Our two virtual Netflix parties have been a highlight during this quarantine! What better time than now to catch up on all those movies you never got to cross off your list? Brunch Anyone?
Who doesn’t love a delicious brunch paired with Washington wines?? We’ve teamed up with our friends at Green Apple Catering to offer a special brunch menu for two every Saturday in June. All you have to do is select the meal, or meals, that look good to you from our website by noon the Thursday prior, and pick up your perfectly packaged brunch box on the Saturday of your choice between 10:30 am – 2 pm at our tasting room!
Game Night Happy Hour
Aside from Bingo, movie night, and virtual happy hours, we are huge fans of game night happy hour. Typically, we love hosting all of you in our tasting room from 5-7 pm every Thursday night, but since we’re all at home, it’s just as possible to enjoy Nine Hats wines while playing your favorite game virtually with family and friends! From Apples to Apples to Uno, the options are endless and a great, fun way to stay busy.
Wine Taste in SODO!
In case you missed it, our SODO tasting room has reopened for tastings! We can’t wait to welcome you back this summer. Our team is taking every measure necessary to ensure your health and safety from the minute you step foot in our tasting room to the minute you leave. Our staff is trained in proper cleaning techniques, will be maintaining 6 feet of separation, as well as wearing face masks. As for you, our guest, we ask that you call us at 206-582-0700 in advance to let us know when you’ll be stopping in. Remember to wear your mask until you are seated and come with a group of 5 people or less. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be available to everyone. We’re open 12-6 pm, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and 12-7 pm Friday and Saturday. Let’s drink Washington wine together again — we’re eager to host you!
Join a Wine Club
Now, this activity can be done whenever you please, is extremely simple, and can bring joy into your life for as long as you want! As a member of the Nine Hats Social Club, you’ll get first dibs on any and all wine releases, invitations to our exclusive parties and events, and complimentary tastings and discounts. Our Social Club gives locals the opportunity to create new friendships — and for our members outside of Seattle, it gives them something to look forward to when they visit. With the Nine Hats Social Club, you can’t go wrong, and your cellar certainly won’t go dry.
We know times have changed and the future will be looking a little different, but the common denominator is connecting with you and bringing you the best Washington wines possible. Whether you’ll be joining us virtually in the coming weeks or we’ll be seeing you in person, stay safe, stay healthy, and we hope to raise a glass with you soon.
