2021 Syrah Columbia Valley
The 2021 growing season was marked by extreme heat and an historically early harvest. Smaller, more concentrated berries resulted in intense flavors of sweet spice, black olive tapenade and blueberry notes. It has wonderful complexity and is well balanced with a richly textured mid-palate and lengthy finish. Aged 18 months in 80% neutral, 20% new oak barrels.
Select vineyards that exhibit beautiful structure and distinctive varietal character were chosen for the final blend. Columbia Valley Vineyards give the wine its richness and full body. Boushey Vineyard in the Yakima Valley enhances its brightness while Syrah from StoneTree Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope adds structure to the final blend. Grenache sourced from the Red Mountain AVA was added to highlight its texture and complexity.
