2018 Syrah Columbia Valley

A warmer vintage produced wines with impressive color and intense flavors. Rich, dark fruits, roasted coffee and a lively balance of bright acidity provide a wonderful texture and long-lasting finish. This Columbia Valley Syrah is made from select vineyards that exhibit beautiful structure and distinctive varietal character. Candy Mountain Vineyard gives the wine its richness and opulent full body while a 1993 planting at Dutchman’s Vineyard in the Yakima Valley enhances its brightness. Grenache from French Creek and Mourvèdre from the Red Mountain add layers of complexity. Aged 18 months in 70% neutral, 30% new oak barrels.

Sourced from Headquarters Vineyard in the Yakima Valley, where a constant breeze moderates temperatures to capture fresh flavors and give the wine its vibrant mouthfeel. A light squeeze of the grapes on the press and a cool fermentation is used to enhance the Pinot Gris’ racy character. This medium-bodied Pinot Gris offers vibrant aromas and flavors of white peach, orange blossom, honeysuckle and ripe citrus that lead to a pleasantly crisp finish.
